@MissChiefCharters - Early December brought the first cold front through the Florida Keys. A large mass of wahoo, sailfish and Blackfin tuna made their way through the gulf stream waters off Key Largo. We had multiple catches of wahoo and sailfish several days in a row, that made for an epic week of fishing. The New Year approaches and we are expecting another large group of pelagic fish to visit our coast soon. Book your next charter and catch the trophy of a lifetime! #keyl
As the season changes from hot to not so hot, fishing has begun to make its seasonal transition. Fishing in Key Largo moves from deep offshore waters to the nearshore coastal waters off the edge of the reef. Tactics also change from trolling lures & rigged baits to drifting with live baits & kite fishing. Our primary target is the mighty sailfish. Sailfish migrate through the waters of Key Largo and Islamorada from November through May. Anglers from all over the world visit t
As weather begins to cool in the Florida Keys, our fishing makes the transition from the summer trolling season to winter live bait fishing. Already we are experiencing good catches of sailfish, blackfin tuna and king mackerel. On the bottom we are catching nice black grouper, mutton snapper and amberjack. On the reefs of Key Largo, the cooler water temps are bringing good catches of hogfish, mutton & yellowtail snapper, sharks and porgies. Catch fish and have fun with Miss C
Fishing is as good as it gets here in the Florida Keys. Offshore we are finding large schools of mahi mahi, from schoolie size to larger fish over 20lbs. Also mixed in are tuna, wahoo, tripletail and billfish. Birds working, weedlines and floating debris have been key to putting these fish in the box. Inshore we are anchoring on reefs and wrecks to catch large yellowtail snapper, mutton snapper and grouper. Chumming the water with baitfish brings these tasty fish close to th
Coming to you live from sunny island of Key Largo, I bring you the skinny on all goings on pescatorial! The sun is shining, the wind is howling and the fish are biting. Must be March Madness in the Florida Keys. Offshore we are seeing the start of the annual slammer mahi mahi migration through the Straits of Florida. Slammers are trophy mahi mahi over 20 lbs. They are a favorite of anglers here in the FL Keys because of their lightening fast runs, acrobatic leaps and excellen
While many are feeling natures wrath in the forms of freezing temps and blizzard conditions, we are enjoying 70 degree days and mild nights. What can I say? One of the perks of living in paradise. Our reef bite has picked up with the drop in water temps. We are putting together great catches of hogfish, mutton & mangrove snapper, grouper, cero mackerel, porgies and small sharks. Half day reef trips are a great family activity that puts fresh fish on the dinner table and smile
