STRUCTURE & DEPTHS
Wreck fishing and deeper reefs off Key Largo
6–10 miles offshore · Roughly 50–300 feet
Our product is built around reef and wreck structure generally about six to ten miles offshore, in roughly 50–300 feet of water. These are planning ranges, not a promise of an exact location or depth on every trip.
Capt. Dan selects the fishing grounds and tackle for the conditions. Grouper, amberjack, cobia and kingfish are possible targets; availability and retention rules vary. We won’t promise a specific species before seeing what the day allows.
For a different approach, compare offshore trolling and live-bait fishing. That trip focuses on open-water fishing rather than this structure-based plan.

ANGLER EXPERIENCE
Is this the right reef trip for your group?
This is a step up from our beginner patch-reef trip in travel, tackle and time on the water. It suits guests who are comfortable with a longer ocean outing and interested in deeper fishing.
Children are welcome, but the longer trip and offshore conditions need to fit the group. If you want a short introduction, start with the family and beginner reef charter. Talk with Dan if you’re deciding between the two.
ALL-INCLUSIVE GEAR & SERVICE

Your trip includes captain and crew, medium and heavy fishing tackle, rods and reels, bait, onboard Florida fishing-license coverage, ice and a cooler. Cleaning and bagging are included for fish you legally keep.
Bring food and drinks for the length of your trip. Offshore clothing should allow for wind, spray and changing conditions. A cooler bag is useful if you take fillets home.

ANSWERS TO COMMON QUESTIONS
Wreck and deep reef fishing questions
Is this the same as the Intro to Fishing Reef Charter?
No. The Intro trip focuses on nearby patch reefs and shorter outings for families and beginners. This charter fishes deeper structure, uses heavier tackle and starts at four hours. Choose it for that style of fishing, and discuss your group’s comfort with offshore conditions before booking.
Can we book this specifically for grouper?
You can tell us grouper is your goal, and we’ll discuss whether the timing and conditions make this a suitable trip. Grouper species have different rules, including closures and size limits. The charter does not guarantee a grouper catch or that any particular fish may be kept.
Does “big game” mean a guaranteed trophy fish?
No. It describes the heavier-tackle focus of this product, not a promised fish size. We fish the conditions and work toward the day’s opportunities. If a particular species or size is your main goal, discuss it with Dan so you can choose the right trip with realistic expectations.
Is all the tackle provided?
Yes. Medium and heavy rods, reels and tackle for this charter are included, along with bait. You don’t need to bring your own fishing gear. If you’d like to use a particular setup, ask before the trip so it can be checked against the day’s plan.
